Ardent Wilds

Ardent Wilds is an ambitious project by Spellware Studios, built on a custom game engine with a C++ backend and Lua for the surface code.
I had very limited involvement with the C++ code,
most of my contribution was focused on the custom engine itself and the Lua scripting layer.
I initially joined the team as an intern and was later hired for a time. My mission was to act as a versatile Junior Developer. The game, running on the custom engine with a strong c++ backend, allowed me to script almost everything in LUA
I was involved in many small, diverse tasks, ranging from gameplay to VFX, sound FX and asset integrations.



This experience allowed me to deep dive into an entirely custom made engine code. I could witness the core of something completely made from scratch and ascertain pros and cons from this process
